The Countryside Management Association holds its annual conference this week, and just in time the association’s website is being relaunched in new, spiffily up-to-date style. Check it out here.

I walk my dog in the Suffolk countryside every day and am dismayed at the number of balloons – particularly the foil variety – that litter the countryside. Every field and ditch contains at least one balloon and presumably they are non biodegradable? I have started collecting them but wondered if there are any moves to deal with this?
