The Countryside Management Association holds its annual conference this week, and just in time the association’s website is being relaunched in new, spiffily up-to-date style. Check it out here.

The designers? Your ever-humble Ranger was commissioned to oversee the process, with Naturenet’s design partner Lord Tenacious. If you care, let us know what you think!

Uncooperative crusty. Unofficial Isle of Wight cultural ambassador. Conservation, countryside and the environment, with extra stuff about spiders.

I walk my dog in the Suffolk countryside every day and am dismayed at the number of balloons – particularly the foil variety – that litter the countryside. Every field and ditch contains at least one balloon and presumably they are non biodegradable? I have started collecting them but wondered if there are any moves to deal with this?

The Ranger responds: indeed there are. See this post.
