Ooer – now it’s getting scary. There were a few comments after our previous posting about dog mess, which seemed to suggest that the issue was being over-hyped. If anyone doubts that people really get bothered about dog mess, check out these slightly worrying messages left on pavements in Ventnor:
Let’s hope that vigilantism will not follow – the Ranger is aware that there are some pretty good legal ways of getting dog mess dealt with in Ventnor, so let’s keep to them, shall we? (Pictures by Simon Perry)
IRRESPONSIBLE DOG OWNERS
Next time you are walking your dog & it lays’DM’ (Dog Muck), don’t bother to bag it & bin it, just place a’Twas Me’ flag next to it, turn a blind eye & walk on as if nothing happened!!
The’Twas Me’ flag consists of the following:-
A 2 foot length wooden pole, sharpened at one end for ease of insertion into public park grass, childrens play areas etc etc. Also available with a steel base, just in case your dog DMs on a pavement/road.
The top of the pole has a A4 size red cardboard flag with the following message printed on both sides:-
WARNING ” I HAVE JUST LET MY DOG DO THIS BECAUSE I COULD NOT BE A***D TO BAG IT & BIN IT. THIS IS MY NAME & ADDRESS.
YOUR NAME & ADDRESS
PLEASE CONTACT THE AUTHORITIES SO THEY CAN ARRANGE TO GET ME HEAVILY FINED FOR BEING A COMPLETE T****R.
I am thinking of putting this idea into production.’Pets @ Home’ maybe interested in selling’Twas Me’ flags, perhaps vetinary practices may be interested too, who knows
I think so, by the look of it. It would be a little ironic if they were permanent, you’re right!
I hope that was just written in chalk!
