…orchid. Yes, alright, it was a cheap headline. But take this opportunity to enjoy the great website of Hartslock Nature Reserve, part of a large SSSI on the north side of the Thames between Whitchurch and Goring-on-Thames, Oxfordshire. The reserve is owned by The Wildlife Trust for Berks, Bucks & Oxon (BBOWT) and managed by its staff and volunteers. The website has long been a favourite of The Ranger’s, and has some really great content meticulously maintained. Plus, it looks great! No animated banners or pages of pink Times New Roman on blue backgrounds. Go and see for yourself. The headline-making feature is the news that Lady Orchids have interbred with Monkey Orchids. You’re too late to see them in situ this year, but there are some pictures. Here’s a preview:
