Do you subscribe to email lists for your wildlife and countryside news? Naturenet has just updated the big list of UK environmental mailing lists. A whole load of defunct groups have been swept away, and new ones replace them. Is your favourite not on there? Let us know.

You’re right, it’s a super idea. Regardless of the purpose, planting trees to create a sustainable woodland is a splendid thing to do. I wish them the very best of luck. Of course, if we all gave up flying then they wouldn’t be needed. Perhaps we should plant trees for driving cars, too?

  • I visited the treeflights site and felt a warm glow. This is a lovely business and a lovely idea. Planting trees is a wonderful thing to do: creating a whole diverse woodland is even better. I have already ordered my trees and the fact that I can go and see them, and then my grandchildren will be able to go visit them as well, is even more wonderful.

You’re right about those beeches.Whoever planted them is probably feeding trees now! This project is only a month old so I can only show you piccies of very young trees (view nursery link on homepage). When the Treeflight orders come in, we tag the seedling trees in the nursery with the passengers details then we have to wait till they become dormant in the Autumn before planting them out on the mountainside.
Right now we’re working on a “demonstration area”, where we can show how the system works-as soon as it’s done we’ll upload photos to the site.
Hope that answers your question, Ranger and thanks for the interest.

Looks like an interesting idea. More pictures of your trees, please – I don’t think you planted those lovely big beeches on your home page, did you?
