Find the fault is back! When colleagues stop The Ranger in the office, begging him to get his finger out and publish another, it must be time for the latest retro puzzler. And here’s a good one – same rules as before. Find what’s wrong with the picture, tell us your answer in the comments below. Bonuses will be on offer for spotting any errors that are not on the official answer card!
Answers are in the comments below.
If anyone’s interested in seeing the originals before processing I’ve put a couple of big photos here. You can see them at full size and see what state the cards were in.
It’s a ugly re-do pix!
If you were looking for attention to the bright green, ya got that!
If it has somthing to do with the era, then No!
I would like to see the original.
What an excitement! An entirely new award to an eagle-eyed reader… who? All is revealed at the end of this comment.
First, the official answer:
Well done pascal who as usual got in first with the answer spot on: so the official point goes to him. Simon gets an honourable mention too.
Now, bonuses – Ruth, I’m not convinced, as the seat could be behind the front board of the cart allowing poor old Farmer Giles to rest his fundament like this.
Brian – I’m not convinced by that either. That horse looks like it’s trotting normally to me. But I’m open to arguments.
Pajamadeen – half a point for you as you’re right, the colours are far from lifelike. But it’s a drawing, after all, and I must take some blame if so as they have been ‘shopped a bit to get rid of 60 years of bleaching and yellowing, and possibly I overdid it.
Finally, the Ranger’s Meta-Bonus Point goes to Tim Frost for spotting that I actually missed out FTF6 and went straight from 5 to 7. Well done and very well observed Tim! You caught me out. Next up, FTF6.
The card should say at the top:
FIND THE FAULT Country Series 6
Maybe?
The distant hills are sky blue. I suppose this is artistic license. However, they should be a darker shade of green to reflect shadows from the clouds. I have no explanation for the yellow clouds.
Horse’s legs are all wrong.
The front left and back right should act in unison but in the case are doing the opposite.
Cheers
Brian
Poor Farmer Giles must have terrible Farmer Giles: there’s no proper seat on the front of the cart!!Perhaps that’s why he’s clenching his fists so tightly.
Not dissimilar from the last one with a horse really – although this one is wearing a collar, it appears to be pulling what must be a fairly heavy cart using just two pieces of string. I guess it would run forwards like that, but would wobble about like mad and would be loads of fun to stop!
The cart has no shaft to hold the horse.
