Well, an extraordinary upset here. Bookies up and down the land are wringing their hands, as Pascal fails to take the main point, being slightly over an hour too late.
Instead Richard takes the prize this time for correctly identifying the official answer:
I’m not sure what swifts have got to do with it – there are no swifts in the picture. Anyhow, well done Richard, and a bonus to Billobob for getting the same thing. I have to deny Pascal one bonus point, as although he’s right that the robin is a rather poorly coloured, it’s just about recognisable as a European robin, being too small and the wrong shape for an American robin. But he pulls it back with his final comment, pointing out correctly that a swallow would not sit on a bird-table eating seed. So one bonus to Pascal.
Tim Frost takes the only other bonus on offer, pointing out the curious mismatch in the snowy windowsills. And as for the rest of the discussion, well, of course one might assert that putting on the red light in a country cottage is wrong, but I think we might be deviating from the game. I can’t go giving points for indications of moral depravity or other abstracts – where would it end? Next thing you’d all be pointing out the iniquity of the Corn Laws in each picture…
Who said it’s winter? Perhaps its just fairy dust! Too much Christmas spirit me thinks…

If they’ve not been going in the front, perhaps they’ve been using some other entrance …ahem.

If it’s a brothel it hasn’t been doing good trade recently – no footprints going to and from the front door…
Whore frost, perhaps?
There is snow on the windowsill of the window on the right that does not project from the main body of the house, however, on the sill of the bay window that does project there is a distinct lack of snow….
It also looks rather like there is a raging inferno inside the house. Either that, or its a very sweet little whore house!
Also maybe something about the swallow standing on the fountain to eat seeds, while they usually catch insects on the wing.
What’s the other bird? An american robin?
As its latin name implies (Turdus migratorius), it would probably leave before the snow…
