Tree graffiti 2

Matthew Chatfield

Regular readers will recall the strange tree graffiti The Ranger found on a visit to the Landslip a while ago. It seems as though the unknown artist has been at it again – on the same tree:

CCTV in operation

It goes without saying that there was no CCTV or anything like it anywhere in evidence. In fact there was probably no electricity for at least half a mile in any direction. The curious irony of this very well-executed work was enhanced by the very obscure location, a good 15 minutes scramble down rocks and gullies far from any path or track. What can it mean?

It’s almost impossible to describe the location. But find the Wishing Seat and head for the coast bearing slightly to the north – there is no path and it involves some dangerous clambering.
