Section 9(1) of the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 prohibits
the killing, injuring or taking by any method of those wild mammals listed on
Schedule 5 of the Act.
Section 9(4)(a) prohibits the damage, destruction, or obstruction of access
to any structure or place which any wild mammal listed on Schedule 5 uses
for shelter or protection, and Section 9(4)(b) prohibits the disturbance of
any such mammal while it is occupying a structure or place which it uses for
that purpose.
