Regular readers will recall the strange tree graffiti The Ranger found on a visit to the Landslip a while ago.
It seems as though the unknown artist has been at it again - on the same tree:

It goes without saying that there was no CCTV or anything like it anywhere in evidence. In fact there was probably no electricity for at least half a mile in any direction. The curious irony of this very well-executed work was enhanced by the very obscure location, a good 15 minutes scramble down rocks and gullies far from any path or track. What can it mean?

The thoughts and writings of The Virtual Ranger, since 1995 the host and mascot of Naturenet, the UK's most popular independent environmental website; along with interjections from his real-life alter ego, Matthew Chatfield, and others. Featuring not only Naturenet and countryside related stuff, but, as on Naturenet, plenty of other material - more or less at random - that takes The Ranger's fancy. But you can be confident that soon enough he'll be rather sarcastic.
